I new thing that started recently!

Why would it be required, after a charge, that I am required to switch the "main switch" of for the lights/bulb to work?

I placed an order with The Light Shop for two tubes. When it arrived one tube had broken in transit. When I contacted Adrian, they re-sent the whole order. So I basically received a free tube! The tubes are amazing! It's like daylight in my garage when Eskom gives us some power!

I wanted a light that could be charged by sunlight in the window sill or outside and then moved to the kitchen in the event that Eskom has grid collapse. This light is brilliant because it has a picture frame type mounting system so you can simply hang it onto the screws.

Perfect replacements. A little dimmer than I was hoping but for the price and the obvious wattage spec. It's a good replacement

I love it, Only quirk is I use mine in a lamp and it has to be on to charge. Would have been handy if I could turn it off to charge for the next power outage so now its on during day times to charge which is a bit silly but other than that it is so convenient and amazing. I love it and buying more for sure

Love these lights. Shine like normal when electricity is on, dims slightly when load shedding, but decently bright for the whole duration of load shedding. Can switch the lights on and off when load shedding too like normal. Definitely buying more!

These bulbs are perfect for loadshedding. It is much better than the non branded bulbs.

I have bought a few of the cheap ones over the years of load shedding and they have ALL failed or do not work as they say they meant to.
These might be a little more costly, but you get what you pay for. Bought them over a year ago and still going strong.
These actually have LI-Ion Batteries which is probably why they actually last! Thank you Philips and The Light Shop!
